Data controller
Carlos Sáez Alfonsea, Spanish tax ID 46.972.123-M, Rosa Leveroni 3, 2-4, 08960 Sant Just Desvern (Barcelona). E-mail: info@chesscorrector.com.
What data we process
Your e-mail address, to identify you and send you sign-in links and service notifications.
Your chess.com username and the public games linked to it, which we download from the public chess.com API in order to analyse them.
The results of the analyses: metrics, missions and their evolution.
If you subscribe, your customer ID at Stripe (web) or at RevenueCat/App Store (iOS app). Payment details are handled by Stripe or Apple; we never see your card.
Minimal technical data needed to operate: server logs and a session cookie required to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
How you use the service: which screens you open, when you ask for an analysis or a review, and which errors you run into. We keep it on our own servers, we do not send it to any third party, we store no IP address and no advertising identifier, and we use it only to find out which part of the service does not work well. If you do not have an account yet, that record is tied to a random identifier that lives only while the tab is open; if you sign in from that tab, or with the sign-in link you requested from it, it becomes part of your account's record. Deleting your account deletes this record too.
If you installed the iOS app from one of our App Store ads, we store the campaign, ad group and keyword Apple reports to us, so we can tell which ads work. Apple provides this without the advertising identifier and it cannot identify you outside our service.
Why, and on what legal basis
To provide the service you subscribe to or use for free (performance of a contract).
To send you communications about your analyses and your account (performance of a contract). We do not send advertising.
To comply with legal obligations, in particular tax obligations, where payments are involved.
Minors
The service may be used by minors within a club, under the supervision of their coach, or individually through the account of a parent or legal guardian, who registers the e-mail and subscribes to the plan. We do not request any data from minors beyond their chess.com username and their public games.
Who we share data with
Providers we need in order to operate, under data-processing agreements: Railway (hosting, United States, with standard contractual clauses), Resend (e-mail delivery), Stripe (payments on the web), Apple and RevenueCat (subscriptions bought in the iOS app) and Lichess (anonymous look-ups of opening statistics, with no personal data). We do not sell data or hand it to third parties for their own purposes.
If you belong to a club, your club's coach can see your username, your analyses and your missions in order to support you.
Retention
For as long as you have an account. If you close it, we delete your data within 30 days, except for data we must keep under a legal obligation (invoicing) for the periods set by law.
Your rights
You can access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your data, and request portability, by writing to info@chesscorrector.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es) or your local supervisory authority.
Security
Password-less sign-in via single-use links that expire after 15 minutes, encryption in transit, and access to data restricted to the owner and the providers listed above.
